MRS panel debate explores mobile research

OnePoint Global's Chief Research Officer Dr Tim Snaith joined the Market Research Society's panel debate on 'Is mobile research reliable, representative or rigorous enough?' at the Market Research Society's recent Mobile Insights Conference in London.
Amongst the topics discussed by the panel were:
  • The representativeness in mobile research and the impact it has on the integrity of research
  • A comparison of levels of engagement between respondents using fixed and mobile research devices
  • The representativeness in mobile research and the impact it has on the integrity of research
  • Measuring how mobile device type and the device sophistication affects research results
  • Assessing the extent to which the limitations of mobile technology may impact the validity of research findings
  • Determining the extent to which people are responsive to market research, when engaging in social activities

What do Americans like for lunch?

On 3rd November, OnePoint Global and partner Toluna, conducted a mobile panel survey, asking Americans to share details about their lunch that day.

Setting up and conducting the survey was easy; the day before, 191 panel members replied to an invitation to take part. The rest of the survey then took place via a live webinar, allowing webinar participants to experience the speed and capability of the scripting, the ease of launch and the speed of response.

The results speak for themselves:
  • 51% completion rate in 25 minutes
  • 80% completion rate in under 2 hours
  • 84% completion rate in 12 hours
And the most popular choice for lunch that day was ....., eaten at home/ in the office.
